Burnie Foreshore Art Prize 2026 - En Plein Air - At Rhododendron Garden
The Burnie Foreshore Art Prize is an annual art competition open to amateur and professional artists. The fee of $20 for Adults and $5 for the Youth category paid to BSB 633 000 Acc# 111 791 232
Prizes in the adult category are awarded as follows 1ST ($500), 2nd ($300), 3rd ($200). Youth categories one prize each – Primary $50, Secondary $50, and Senior Secondary $100. A panel of three judges will determine the awards, all decisions are final.
A Peoples Choice prize of $100 will be awarded based on votes received by the public on the day.
First prize in the Adult category will be acquisitive, all other prizes are non-acquisitive. All prizes are in $A.

Learn to paint water convincingly
Alison Thomas will teach a six-week course in painting water features in acrylic paint at the Burnie Coastal Art Group studio, commencing on Wednesday 3 September 2024.
Classes will run from 10am until 12.30 each Wednesday until 9 October. Class size will be limited to 10 students. Each class will include demonstrations by Alison, using acrylic paint on watercolour paper. This will be followed by students painting water features from photographs supplied by Alison.

Art Workshops Emu Valley Rhododendron Garden
The Burnie Coastal Art Group will run sketch events for people aged 16 and older on 6 July and 13 July at Emu Valley Rhododendron Gardens from 1.30 to 3.30pm.
Some sketches will be selected for an exhibition at EVRG for a couple of weeks. $20 includes entry and sketch event. Refreshments can be purchased at EVRG.
Booking for the sketching event is essential to obtain one of 20 free sketching kits, and to register for free tutoring
