Youth Tasart Opening 2025
A great opening was held on Friday 7 November at 4pm with around 65 guests.
Prizes were presented by our Major Sponsor the Hon Roger Jaensch MP.

Judges comments - Amy Morrow
Kinder/Prep
1st - A vibrant mixed media of water-colour and oil pastel mark making. A wonderful abstract representation of tree trunks and branches. The fluid background of swirling colours enhances the oil pastel outlines, creating contrast and texture.
2nd – A soft, fluid watercolour background with bold black paint to create a delightful character. This adds a playful spirit to this artwork.
3rd- A great combination of collage and printmaking, blending textures and patterns to create a visually dynamic composition.
Year 1
1st – This lively abstract collage reflects the spirit of Artist Kandinsky through its dynamic use of colour and shapes. The bold contrasts and overlapping elements create a sense of movement and emotion.
2nd – This artwork Beautifully combines weaving and fabric to create a textured, tactile piece complimented using colours and patterns adding depth and vibrancy.
3rd – This bright abstract drawing features bold colours and lively lines and mix of shapes shows great creativity and imagination.
Year 2
1st –This harmonious abstract collage blends hues of blue and green, creating a vibrant composition, whilst balancing elements of circular and geometric shapes.
2nd – The use of diverse materials adds depth and interest, capturing the viewer's eye and imagination with this creative artwork.
3rd –This artwork beautifully combines vibrant elements, use of colour and playful rhythm in composition.

Year 3
1st –Abstract artwork on 3D surface to create a unique composition. The use of curves and lines adds depth and movement.

Year 5
1st The water-colour merges fluidly creating a dreamy atmosphere, combined with the ink outlines mark making, this highlights the artist's creativity and control, sparking curiosity within the artwork.
2nd –Wonderful use of both wet and dry brush techniques to create a striking image of an eye and face with ants. Your choice of subject is unique and thought-provoking, drawing you in.
3rd –This artwork bursts with energy and creativity, using bold contrasts in a Pollock-like splattering technique.
Year 6
1st – This pastel artwork use of tonal values brings the character to life. The smooth blending and soft and sharp gradations create depth and expression.
2nd –This artwork Skill-fully blends muted coloured circles with bold spiral lines, creating a striking abstract portrait and cityscape silhouette.
3rd – This delightful drawing of a duck in boots displays soft lines and gentle shading. The tender details beautifully capture the duck’s quirky character.
Year 7
1ST – This abstract artwork great colour pallet to colours to create a striking composition.
2nd –This simple abstract artwork features strong lines and limited colour pallet and clean shapes that bring the composition together.
3rd – The use if contrasting colour adds to the the layout, while the dynamic shapes and forms guide the viewer’s eye drawing attention added elements within the artwork.

2nd –Imaginative design. Intricate mark making and bold patterns create a captivating visual experience. A skillful use of printmaking techniques,
3rd – This abstract painting captivates you with its wonderful colour combination and intriguing shapes and patterns, and expressive line-work with brushstrokes.
Year 9
1ST – This pottery piece features a unique and quirky owl, with individual flair. The vibrant playful brushstrokes transforming the owl and elevating this piece, making it standout.
2nd –This collection of minimalist beauty, simplicity, and elegance. Each subject painted through subtle colours and tonal values with a refined composition.
3rd – A wonderfully painted cityscape with a strong perspective that pulls the viewer into its narrative. The thoughtfully applied limited palette creates a glowing ambiance and vivid reflections within the buildings. The painted words 'Before Time Leaves Us' and silhouetted figures at the street's end, adds a layer of emotional depth and inviting contemplation on time and existence."
Year 10
1ST – This artwork is striking using negative space to centre on the silhouette of an apple core framed by faces, highlights the artist's technical skill but also conceptual adding emotional depth, as it encourages us to reflect on our first perceptions
2nd –A vivid artwork radiates energy and confidence, The inclusion of words within the painting adds a layer of meaning, inviting viewers to engage not only with the visual elements but also with the conceptual message. The striking use of colour and line draws the eye and enhances the emotional impact on multi levels.
